Born in an eighteenth-century former convent, the San Polo winery is located in a rural village on the outskirts of Castelvetro di Modena, near the Guerro stream and the Appennine hills.
It was founded by grandfather Giuseppe, who acquired the estate in 1938 to cultivate his dream of building a winery to produce quality typical wines.
Passed down from generation to generation, today the San Polo farm is run by grandson Paolo Ghiddi, who in 1994 converted the estate to total organic farming. A lot of innovation, but with a firm grip on tradition.
The San Polo farm is located in the hilly area near Castelvetro di Modena, in a small corner of peace close to the city’s hustle and bustle.
On the farm, grapes, spelt, and wheat are cultivated and processed strictly using organic methods to produce excellent quality products at 0 km.
The farmhouse, always family-run, serves typical Modena products made with the same care that is dedicated to the land. It’s a discreet and jovial corner to spend an evening in great company with unique products.
And to get away from the daily hustle and bustle, the farm’s rooms are available in a corner of nature surrounded by greenery and silence. They are elegantly furnished, yet always tied to the farming tradition.
